Family Service Rochester is seeking a part-time Parent Educator to deliver Parents as Teachers services to families in Olmsted and Goodhue counties. Do you have a passion for working alongside parents and children to support their growth and success? In this role you will work directly with families providing education and learning around child development while enhancing family stability.

This position requires extensive communication with the program manager to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook, database software, problem solving and analysis. They will exhibit detail-oriented planning and organizational skills. They will be goal-oriented and efficiently prioritize and execute tasks. They will work well independently as well as effectively with different types of people and demonstrate warm and respectful communication skills with both internal and external customers.
An associates degree/ two-year degree in early childhood development or a related field is preferred. A high school diploma/GED and two years of early childhood related experience is acceptable. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance and dependable transportation is necessary for this position.

You will do this by:
- Planning, providing and documenting personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being.
- Coordinating and hosting group connections to give families an opportunity to build social connections with one another.
- Engaging in parent-child interaction activities, and increase knowledge of ways to support children’s development.
- Managing and responding to emails and phone calls as well as other forms of communication from families in a professional and acceptable manner.
- Working a schedule that is responsive to program needs, which may include evening and weekend hours.
